JACKSON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE; COACH KERMIT SMITH, MARTIN COLLEGE;
AND THE LATE DR. ERNEST STOCKTON, PRESIDENT, CUMBERLAND COLLEGE. THE
GROUP MET FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MAY 9, 1968 IN THE K ROOM OF
CUMBERLAND COLLEGE, LEBANON, TENNESSEE (NOW CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY).
A Commemorative Plaque regarding the
formation of the TJCCAA remains in the K Room at Cumberland University
and a replica is located in the lobby of the Billy Webster Athletic
Center at Columbia State Community College Gymnasium.
The first induction into the TJCCAA Hall
of Fame was conducted on Monday, August 17, 1987, at 4:30 P.M., CST,
at Columbia State Community College, Columbia, Tennessee. The
pictures of the inductees into the TJCCAA Hall of Fame are located in
the lobby of the Billy Webster Athletic Center at Columbia State
Community College and TJCCAA Records are maintained in the TJCCAA Hall
of Fame Room in the same complex. Six members were inducted into the
TJCCAA Hall of Fame on August 17, 1987. One member per year since
that time has been inducted into the TJCCAA Hall of Fame.
The TJCCAA State Seal Athletic Emblem
was originally filed with the Office of Secretary of State on June 11,
1990.
