MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR HOSTING THE 2009AND FUTURE
TJCCAA/NJCAA
REGION VII BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS
1. Free use of the
Baseball and Fast Pitch Softball Fields which are to be used for the
TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament Games and the fields must be
within fifteen (15) miles of each, with comparable length of all
fields used for the Tournaments. No Men’s Slow Pitch Softball
Fields will be used for the Softball Tournament Games.
2. There must be
availability of adequate lights, restrooms, and other facilities to
be used for the Baseball and Softball Tournament Games.
3. Free field
preparations must be provided before each Baseball and Softball game
to be played in the Tournaments.
4. The Host
Institution Athletic Director must provide for a Contingency Plan in
the event there is inclement weather during the Baseball and
Softball Tournaments.
5. Infield practice
must be allowed (if desired by the teams) before each game to be
played in the Baseball and Softball Tournaments.
6. Each team
participating in the Baseball and Softball Tournaments must be
scheduled for at least one game prior to the finals on the field
that the Championship Games will be played.
7. Three new softballs
must be provided by the Host for each softball game to be played in
the Tournament.
8. An adequate public
address system, announcers, scoreboard operators, and score keepers
must be provided by the Host for each game to be played in the
Baseball and Softball Tournaments.
9. Tickets, ticket
sellers, and ticket takers must be provided by the Host for each
game to be played in the Baseball and Softball Tournaments.
10. A facsimile machine
with telephone connections at each field location (unless the fields
are contiguous) with free use for official communications, and a
telephone with free use by approved officials for official telephone
calls must be provided by the Host for the Baseball and Softball
Tournaments.
11. A nice Hospitality
Area with sandwiches, drinks, and/or other suitable food items at
both fields (unless the fields are contiguous) must be provided by
the Host for Institutional Presidents, Athletic Directors, Coaches,
Umpires, other approved institutional personnel, and official
personnel of the TJCCAA and NJCAA Region VII.
12. At least one
Certified Trainer and one EMT or other medical person must be
provided by the Host for each of the Baseball and Softball
Tournaments.
13. Water, ice, cups,
etc. must be furnished by the Host for the players, coaches, and
umpires at the dugouts of the fields being used for the Baseball and
Softball Tournaments.
14. Towels, soap, water
and/or soft drinks, ice, and cups must be furnished by the Host for
the umpires used in the Baseball and Softball Tournaments in an
appropriate dressing room area with shower facilities.
15. The Host must pay
the umpires for each Baseball and Softball Game worked during the
Tournaments. (Note: The NJCAA Region VII Men’s Director will provide
the names of the Baseball Umpires to be used for the TJCCAA/NJCAA
Region VII Baseball Tournament. The NJCAA Region VII Women’s
Director will provide the names of the Softball Umpires to be used
for the TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Softball Tournament.)
16. Five complimentary
rooms must be provided by the Host for TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII
Personnel for the duration of the Baseball and Softball Tournaments.
17. Two complimentary
rooms must be provided by the Host for the out-of-town Softball
Umpires.
18. Two complimentary
rooms must be provided by the Host for the out-of-town Baseball
Umpires.
19. The Host must insure
that adequate hotel/motel blocks of rooms will be available for all
team players, coaches and assistant coaches, and other official
personnel involved with the Baseball and/or Softball Tournaments at
a discounted rate.
20. The Host must secure
a nice and suitable room, for use on the evening prior to the
beginning of the Baseball and Softball Tournaments, for a
dinner/meeting of Athletic Directors, Coaches, Assistant Coaches,
TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Personnel, and other official personnel, and
furnish a nice dinner for the approximately 45 - 50 persons
attending.
21. A photographer must
be furnished by the Host for individual and team pictures for
Baseball and Softball at times requested by the TJCCAA Commissioner.
22. The Host must
provide adequate security for all games during the Baseball and
Softball Tournaments.
23. The Host must
provide for a good sound system for an appropriate version of the
National Anthem before the first game each day of each of the
Tournaments and could possibly be requested to provide for it at
other times during the Tournaments.
24. The Host must
prepare a Program for each of the TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Baseball
and Softball Tournaments with team pictures and rosters supplied by
the coaches of the respective teams. One copy of the Program must be
furnished free of charge to each player and coach participating in
the Tournaments, and to the TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII official
personnel. The other Programs may be sold by the Host.
25. The Host must provide for
statistical support services as needed for either Baseball or
Softball stats during the Tournaments.
26. Each Host Institution
Athletic Director will be responsible for insuring that all
requirements for hosting the Baseball and Softball Tournaments are
fully met.
27. Should the requirements
not be fully met though intentional actions by the Host Institution
Athletic Director, the Host Institution Baseball and Softball Teams
will not be permitted to participate in the succeeding year’s TJCCAA/NJCAA
Region VII Baseball and Softball Tournaments.
28. Should there be any
question regarding the failure of a Host Institution Athletic
Director to fully meet the requirements, an appeal may be made to
the TJCCAA Executive Committee.
29. The Institutional
Rotational Plan will begin with the 2009 TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII
Baseball and Softball Tournaments with a blind draw determining the
Institutional Host for the 2009 Tournaments and progressing
alphabetically in the following years of the Tournaments. (Note:
An Institution may decline to host the Tournaments if desired or if
the requirements for hosting the Tournaments cannot be met.)
The Host for the TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Baseball and Softball
Tournaments will receive the following:
1. Tournament Entry Fees of
$100.00 for each of the institutional teams participating in the
Tournaments to be paid from the TJCCAA Treasury.
2. All Gate Receipts.
3. All profits from the sale of Tournament Souvenirs.
4. All profits from the sale of Programs.
5. All profits from the concessions.
6. All profits from paid
advertisements.
