Almost a month into the 2018 volleyball season, and Walters leads the pack with a 2-0 record after wins over both Cleveland State and Chattanooga State by identical 3-0 scores.  They met Cleveland early in the month and took the match by the scores of 25-21, 25-13, and 25-22.  This past week, they face Chattanooga at home and won that match with scores of 25-20, 25-12, and 25-14.  The Lady Senators currently sit 9-5 on the year.

Chattanooga won their first conference matchup against Cleveland a day earlier in a four game match.  They lost the first game of the match 27-25, but took the next three by scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-21 for the victory.  The Lady Tigers stand 6-6 at this point in their inaugural season of play.  The Lady Cougars are 0-2 in conference play, but 6-8 overall on the season.

Micayla Vallie of Walters State currently leads the conference in kills with 150 and digs with 247.  Kaley Muncy of Walters leads the league with 25 service aces and 21 solo blocks.  Courtney Dotson of the Lady Senators leads with 242 assists.

Next conference action for the three teams will begin on October 10 when Cleveland will travel to Chattanooga for their rematch.  That will follow on the 13th when the Lady Cougars will travel for their rematch with the Lady Senators.  Then Walters will travel to Chattanooga on the 16th to conclude league play.  The NJCAA Region VII Tournament will be held at Cleveland State this season.  As of yet, dates and game times are still to be determined.
