ROANE STATE WINS REGION VII MEN'S GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Roane State men's golf team wqon the 2026 NJCAA Region VII Golf Tournament held at the Ooltewah Club on Monday by 13 strokes over runner-up Walters State.  Cleveland State finished a distant third in the event.

Roane posted a two round total of 16 over par.  They would score a 295 (+7) in the morning round and then follow it up with a 297 (+9) in the afternoon.  They were led by Anderson House who posted a 72-73-145 (+1) for the day.  Lennon  Hill was next with a 76-70-146 (+2).  Jackson Hawkins finished sixth as an individual with 74-74-148 (+4), Collin Keino finished with a 73-80-154 (+9) for tenth place, and Reggie Phelps carded a 79-83-162 (+18) good for a tie in 22nd place.  Max McClure competed as an individual and finished in a tie for12th placce with a 76-80-156 (+12).

Walters as a team posted to round total of 29 over par.  Tjhey would go out in the morning and post a 307 (+19) and score a 298 (+10) in the afternoon round.  Blake Dawson would finish in a tie for third place with a 72-75-147 (+3).  Maddox Butler would finish in sixth place with a score of 78-71-149 (+5).  Ayden Smith finished in ninth place as he posted a 75-77-152 (+8).  Greyson Smith finished in 14th place as he carded an 82-75-157 (+13), and Alex Gaetz finished in 27 th place with a 84-83-167 (+23).  Brant Kardazke competed as an individual and posted a 85-80-165 (+21).

Cleveland posted a team score of 43 over par.  They shot 316 (+28) in the first round, and then shot a 305 (+15) in the second round.  Tripp Hall finished in a tie for third place with a 76-71-147 (+3) for his two rounds.  Carson Minish finished in ninth place with an 83-73-146 (+12) for the day.  Seth Moore finished in 14th place with a 77-80-157 (+13), Ethan Johansen finished in 18th place with a two round card of 81-79-160 (+16), and Joseph Sadler carded an 82-82-164 (+20) finishing in 24th place.  Cleveland had a second team in the event and Isaac Lambert finished in eighth place with a 75-75-150 (+6) for his two rounds.

Pellissippi finished with a two round total of 45 over par.  They would post a 314 (+26) in the morning round and then finish with a 307 (+19) in the second round.  Griffen Shipley finished in the tie for third place with a 74-73-147 (+3).  Kade Wayland would finish in 11th place with a 73-82-145 (+11).  Dawson Moore and Luke Lindsay ended in a tie for 18th placeas both finshed 16 over par.  Moore would card a 85-75-160, and Lindsey would post a 83-77-160.  Noah Whitten would finish in 28th place with 84-84-168 (+24).  Tom Coleman finished in 31st place as he psted a 90=93-183 (+39).

All four teams will now advance to play in the NJCAA Division II Southeast District to be played at The Country Club in Morristown (TN).  The event will be April 27-28.
