COLUMBIA STATE FALLS IN DISTRICT SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP

The Columbia State women's soccer team saw their season come to an end as they fell to Spartanburg Methodist 2-1 in the NJCAA Southeast District Championship.  The Lady Chargers saw their season end with a 7-1 overall record.  They were the NJCAA Region VII representatives as the regular season champion.  Their opponent, Spartanburg Methodist, was the Region X champion.

Spartanburg Methodist built a 2-0 lead midway through the second half as they scored in the 23 rd minute of the first half, and then again in the 53 minutes of the second half.  Columbia would score their only goal in the 69th minute of the second half as Makenna Gebhard found the back of the net for the Lady Chargers.
