WALTERS BASEBALL ENTERS TCCAA/NJCAA REGION TOURNEY AS TOP SEED

Walters State baseball will enter this week's TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII baseball tournament as the top seed which starts on Friday, May 2, with three playin games. The tournament will be held at the baseball complex on the campus of Chattanooga State.

Chattanooga State will be the #2 seed followed by Pellissippi State as the #3 seed. Southwest Tennessee secured the #4 seed and Columbia State was the #5 seed. All of these teams advanced to the double elimination part of the tournament starting on Saturday.

On Friday, the first playin game will see #8 seed Roane State take on #9 seed Motlow State at noon. At 3:30pm, it will be #7 seed Volunteer State versusu #10 seed Jackson State. At 7:30pm, it will be #6 seed Cleveland going against #11 seed Dyersburg State.

On Saturday, games will start at 10am with Columbia and Southwest Tennessee facing off. Walters will play at 1pm against an opponent to be determined. Pellissippi will play at 4:30pm and Chattanooga will play at 7:30pm with their opponents to be determined as well by the playin games.

Sunday's games will begin at 10am with two elimination games followed by the winner's bracket semis starting at 4:30pm. Monday's games will see four games as well starting at 10am with the winner's bracket final scheduled at 4:30pm. Tuesday's games will see the loser's bracket final at 1pm and the championship game at 4pm. If there is a need for a second championship game, it will be played on Wednesday at 1pm.
