The TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Baseball Tournament is set to get underway Wednesday, April 29, at various sites around the state.  Using a new format with this year's tournament, Walters State gets an automatic bid to the double elimination portion of the tournament by beng the regular season champions.  The tournament wit be held at Dave Hall Field on the Columbia State campus starting on May 5.  The remaining teams will hold best of three series held at the higher seed sites.

The #2 seed Columbia State will play host to #11 seed Jackson State while #3 Cleveland State will host #10 seed Motlow State.  Southwest Tennessee is the fourth seed and will host #9 seed Roane State.  #5 Chattanooga State will play host to the #8 seed, Volunteer State.  Pellissippi State as the sixth seed will host #7 seed Dyersburg State.

Columbia took all three games in their regular season series with Jackson.  All three games were high scoring affairs as the Chargers won by scores of 14-12, 18-15, and 13-3.

Cleveland took two of three from Motlow in their regular season series.  The Cougars took the first and third games by scores of 9-7 and 21-5 with the Bucks winning the middle game 6-5.

Southwest Tennessee won all three of their games versus Roane this year.  The Saluquis won by scores of 12-3, 10-6, and 12-4 over the Raiders.

Chattanooga also swept Volunteer in their regular season series.  The Tigers won by scores of 1-0, 7-1, and 9-1 against the Pioneers.

Pellissippi took all three games versus Dyersburg during the season.  The Panthers won games over the Eagles by scores of 5-3, 15-4, and 10-5.

At the conclusion of the three game series, the tournament will be seeded accordingly based on the winners of each series.
