ROANE STATE FINISHES FIFTH, WALTERS STATE 13TH IN DIVISION II GOLF NATIONALS
The Roane State men's golf team stayed consistent throughout the four days of the NJCAA Division II Golf tournament to finish in fifth place out of 22 teams. The Walters State golf team was able to finish 13th in the team competition for the four days. Cleveland State was also in the field, but failed to advane in the team ccompetition after the second round.
Roane posted a four round total of 304-291-303-297-1195 (+43), finishing 25 shots behind the Mississippi Gulf Coast CC who won the team championship. The Raiders were led by Louis Stott who posted a 296 (+8) for the tournament which also put him in the top 15 scores. Kieran Mcarthy was next with a 299 (+11) followed by Eric Loftis with a 304 (+16). Seth Robinette finished at +19 (307) while Caleb Tipton was at +23 (311).
WAlters had a four day total of 315-301-314-315-1245 (+93). Leading the way for the Senators was Nick Talley with a 302 (+14). Bowen Brantley was next with a 307 (+19) followed by Sloan Brooks with a 317 (+29) and Ian Kinsey posted a 322 (+34). Jack Leach posted a three round total of 251 (+35) and Jonas Rayfield posted a 79 (+7) in the final round.
Cleveland State was in 16th place after the second round with a 634 (+58). They were eliminated from the team competition, but three players continued as individuals. Owen Kreuger ledthe way with a 305 (+17) followed by Reese McFatter with a 310 (+22) and Logan Gadd wih a 322 (+34).
