WALTERS STATE FINISHES 15TH, ROANE STATE 19TH IN MEN'S GOLF NATIONAL
The Walters State and Roane State men's golf teams took to the course for the 2026 NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship this past week at the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth (IN). Both teams represented the conference proudly as the Walters State team bounced back from a bad first day and finished 15th for the tournament. Roane State would finish 19th in the team competition. Cleveland State's Tripp Hall competed as he qualified as an individual and would finish in a tie for 39th place individually.
Walters State would post a 73 over par for the four day tournament. They would post an aggregate of 318-300-309-298-1225. Maddox Butler would finish in a tie for 15th place as he posted a four round score of 78-69-79-70-296 (+8). Ayden Smith would finish in a tie for 39th place as he posted a 76-75-74-75-300 (+12). Alex Gaetz would be next as he finished in a tie for 87th place with a four day total of 82-76-76-80-314 (+26). Both Greyson Smith and Blake Dawson would finish in a group that was tied for 102nd place at 33 over par. Smith would score four rounds of 85-80-81-75-321 while Dawson would post scores of 82-81-80-78-321.
Roane State would finish ten strokes behind Walters as they posted an 83 over par for the four days. They posted a four day total of 306-306-318-305-12335. Lennon Hill would be the top finisher as he finished in a tie for 15th place with a 72-72-78-75-296 (+8). Anderson was next in a tie for 73rd place as he posted a 79-75-79-76-309 (+21). Reggie Phelps was next as finished in tie for 82nd place with a 77-81-78-77-313 (+25) total. Collin Keino finished in a tie for 95th place as he posted a 78-78-84-79-319 (+31). Jackson Hawkins played in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th rounds with a three round total of 84-81-77-242 (+26). Max McClure subbed in the thrid round and post a score of 86 (+14).
Tripp Hall of Cleveland finished 12 over par for the tournament. He would post a four day total of 77-72-81-70-300 to finish in a tie for 39th place.
