CHATTANOOGA SOFTBALL EARNS #1 SEED IN TCCAA/NJCAA REGION VII TOURNAMENT

The TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Appalachian District Tournament begins this Friday, May 2, with three playin games.  The tournament will be held at the softball complex on the campus of Chattanooga State.  

The Lady Tigers went undefeated during the regular season in earning the #1 seed.  Following them is Volunteers State at #2, Walters State at #3, Dyersburg State at #4, and Roane State at #5.  Those five teams earned byes and will advance to the double elimination part of the tournament on Saturday.  The first of the three playin games will be at 11am on Friday when #6 seed Jackson State will face #11 seed Pellissippi State.  At 1:30pm, #7 seed Cleveland State will face #10 Southwest Tennessee, and in the final game at 4:00pm will be the #8 seed Motlow State versus the #9 seed Columbia State. All the winners advance to the double elimination part of the tournament.

On Saturday, Chattanooga will face the winner of the Motlow/Columbia game at 10am.  The Cleveland/Southwest winner will face Volunteer at 12:30pm.  At 3pm. Roane and Dyersburg will play, and in the nightcap at 5:30pm, it will be Walters facing the Jackson/Pellissippi winner.

On Sunday, there will be two elimination games to start the day with the winner's bracket semis in the afternoon with games starting at 10am.  Monday will see four games starting at 10am with the winner's bracket final scheduled at 3pm.  Tuesday will see two games beginning at 12:30pm with the loser's bracket final followed by the championship game at 3pm.  If there is a second championship game, it will be played on Wednesday at 12:30pm.  All game times listed will be EST.
