LADY TIGER SOFTBALL ELIMINATED FROM WORLD SERIES

The Chattanooga State Lady Tiger softball team saw their season come to an end as Crowder eliminated them 2-1 at the NJCAA Division I World Series in Yuma (AZ).  Chattanooga was placed in the elimination game as they lost their first round matchup to Chipola 2-0.

In the Chipola matchup, the Lady Tigers only managed two hits in the game as Briley Burns had a single and Makenzie Woodall had a double.  Chattanooga had their chances as they had runners on base every inning, but couldn't get a timely hit.  Olivia Laney would take her first loss of the season as she pitched the first three innings, surrendering two earned runs on three hits with two strikes and two walks.  Olivia Steinorth would pitch the final four innings, surrendering two hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

In the game versus Crowder, the Lady Tigers had six hits in the game with Burns collecting two singles.  She would drive in Chattanooga's only run with a single after Addison Keef had led off the inning with a triple. Brooke Watson would have two hits while Laylah Turner would have the other hit in the game.  Steinorht would get credit for the loss as she went six innings, surrendering two earned runs on two hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Lady Tigers ended with a 48-9 overall record.
