The Lady Senators couldn't shake off a cold start in the first round of the Women's National Tournament. They found themselves in a 41-29 hole after the first twenty minutes, and could never make a run in the second half. Tyler would hold off to advance with a 72-60 win. the Lady Senators saw their season end with a 13-4 overall record.
The Lady Senators would shoot only 28.1% from the field for the game while their opponents managed only 40% from the field. Other than the shooting woes, the squads were evenly matched in all other key categories. Walters would hold a 2 point lead midway through the first quarter before Tyler would respond with 14-7 run to take a 19-14 lead. The Lady Senators were outscored int he second quarter 22-15 to build the 12 point cushion Tyler would hold for the rest of the game.
Quentarra Mitchell led Walters with 17 points and a team high twelve rebounds. Blayre Shultz also reached double figures with 12 points.
