TCCAA/Region 7 Women's Soccer Tournament set to begin on Sunday, Pellissippi Men to host Region 7/17 Semifinal
The TCCAA/Region 7 Women's Soccer Tournament is set to begin on Sunday, with two first round matchups to be played.
The higher seed for each matchup will host throughout the entire tournament.
Led by TCCAA Player of the Year Abigale Alexander, Columbia State (10-2-1, 7-1) is the No. 1 seed in the Tournament and will have a bye into the Semifinals on Tuesday, October 22.
The second team with a bye into the Semifinals and the No. 2 seed in the tournament are the Motlow State Bucks (11-3-2, 6-1-2). Motlow are led by TCCAA Freshman of the Year, Elva Nunes.
The No. 3 seed are the Pellissippi State Panthers (5-3-3, 4-1-3) , led by TCCAA Coach of the Year Mariana Diaz Lopez. Pellissippi will host the No. 6 seed Roane State (0-13-1, 0-8) on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.
The second game in Sunday's first round sees No. 4 Dyersburg State (4-6-4, 2-5-2) hosting No. 5 Southwest Tennessee (3-6-2, 2-5-1). The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
Following the two Semifinal matchups on Tuesday, the TCCAA/Region 7 Championship will be held on Friday, October 25 at the higher seed. The winner of the tournament will host the Central District on Saturday, November 9.
On the men's side, the Region 7/17 Tournament begins on October 22. The Region 7's lone team is Pellissippi State (7-1-2, 4-1-1), who finished in second-place in the region. The Panthers will host Oxford Emery on the 22nd at 6 p.m. ET at Knox Catholic High School.
